Shop hereA good forage is essential to your small animal's health and wellbeing. It mimics their behaviour in the wild - hours would be spent occupied with finding leafy plants and roots throughout the year. It is really important their instincts are encouraged in your care with a wide variety of foraging foods and treats to find and nibble on so they are engaged and excited by their days.
Shop hereSmall animals are loving, sociable and fun creatures to have as pets but these little beasties come with big responsibilities - food, habitat and exercise. Not any old food will do. Why? Because only the highest quality hay and grass will contain the amount of fibre and nutrients to keep your small animal's digestive system healthy and provide enough gnaw factor to keep their teeth in shape.
We support many small animal rescues through our affiliates schemes where shopping with us can earn your chosen charity a whopping 5% of your spend, at no cost to you. If your chosen charity isn't signed up then they are missing out! Get in contact to find out more.
Email usNot quite. Guinea pigs, like rabbits, need a high fibre feed, but because they lack the enzyme needed to syntheise vitamin C and can only store it for short amounts of time, their food needs to be supplemented.
We recommend that rabbits diet should be mainly made up good quality hay and grass, with leafy greens, fruit and root vegetables fed to them as supplements. The products in our nibbles and treats ranges are made with that ratio in mind, and always using ingredients that will benefit your small animals health and tastebuds.
A balanced diet. By restricting feeding treats like fruits and veg, and buying only naturally made ones, you can control their sugar intake. Feeding them with a measured daily portion of pellets alongside leafy green veggies will help bring their weight down. Plus, obviously, plenty of high quality hay. If you need help with that mixture we have a rabbit formula feed and a guinea pig formula feed that will make their weightloss a tasty experience, and easier for you to monitor.
